On
my recent Dubai trip, I talked with the CEO of a communications and
language services company. His company provided translation services in Dubai.
He was pretty optimistic about business in UAE in general and Dubai
in particular. His optimism is not misplaced. “Every major business
corporation in the world wants a share of the Dubai pie. They have
set up their businesses here. They have problems with the language
and that is where we help,” he says.
Running
a translation
company in Dubai
was not always his dream, though. “With an internationally
recognised degree in Business Administration, I could have joined any
of the major business corporations either here in Dubai or anywhere
in the world. But my search for a good job made me realise the need
for good translation
services in Dubai
and along with a couple of friends of mine, we decided to start this
venture,” says the CEO.
In
2008, he and two of his friends started a translation
agency in Dubaiand within months were catering to big clients. “We have an
advantage. All of us have international degrees. So we are good in
English and maybe, Spanish, German, French and even Portuguese. Plus
we know Arabic as well, since we were born and brought up here in
Dubai. We approach all major businesses and offer our unique
proposition to get business,” says the CEO.
One
of his partners quips in, “We have retained almost every client
that we have worked for. We provide value-added and professional
services which our clients appreciate and they come back for more.”
Dubai
is “happening.” All it needs is a little bit of imagination to be
a part of it.
